LAHORE: Approval has been given for the release of Rs 37 billion by the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) for seven schemes on Tuesday, a local media outlet reported on Tuesday.
The decision was made at the 69th meeting of the fiscal year by the PDWP. Rs 13.342 billion was approved for improving 24 district headquarters hospitals and Rs9.882 billion for Integrated Reproductive Maternal Newborn & Child Health Nutrition Programme. To prevent and control noncommunicable diseases such as hypertension, diabetes and cancers, Rs 2.390 was allocated. In addition, Rs 35.6 were allotted for a development plan in Bahawalpur City (PC-II), Rs 8.771 billion to improve Khanewal-Lodhran Road ad Rs 2.199 billion to construct Government College Women University in Sialkot.
Rs 600 million has also been approved for P&D Department’s capacity building so planning and monitoring process can be improved.
