PESHAWAR: Central leader of Awami National Party (ANP) and senior parliamentarian, Ilyas Ahmad Bilour Wednesday demanded of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to hold probe against Chief Minister KP, Pervez Khattak over purchasing of each bus for Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project at an exorbitant price of Rs. 27.5 million.

In a press statement issued here on Wednesday, Ilyas Ahmad Bilour said in Punjab each bus is purchased from Korea at a price of Rs. 10 million while in KP buses are purchased from China at a much exorbitant price of Rs. 27.5 million.

“All records of corruption have been broken in this BRT project by KP government,” alleged Ilyas Bilour who is also former member of Upper House of parliament.

He reiterated his demand from NAB to hold an impartial inquiry in BRT project especially in the purchase of buses for the project.

People should know that how the province was looted by those who were voted by people in the name of change, Bilour added.

If NAB did not hold an inquiry into this scam and unveiled faces of corrupts, it (NAB) will lose people’s confidence, Bilour opined.
