15 more peacocks die of ‘Ranikhat’ in Tharparkar, toll mounts to 316

THARPARKAR: The viral disease Ranikhat has killed about 15 more peacocks in different areas of Tharparkar.

According to an official of the Sindh Wildlife Department, the number of birds died of disease during the ongoing year (2018) has reached to 316.

The official said so far the peacocks had died in different villages of Chachro, Mithi, Deeplo Tehsils.

Last year this disease had also killed hundreds of beautiful peacocks before the monsoon season.

No step has been yet taken by the provincial government and district administration to overcome the epidemic and stop the deaths of precious birds.
