KARACHI: An 18-month-old boy, Mohammed Raheel, was found murdered on Friday afternoon, a few hours after he went missing while playing outside his parents’ house in Wazir Goth near Ahsanabad.
The body was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where additional police surgeon Dr Saleem Shaikh examined it and informed that the boy’s head was probably smashed with a heavy stone.
An official of the SITE Superhighway Industrial police said that the body was recovered from an under-construction room in a housing society near Ahsanabad.
They said the boy had gone missing at about 10am and his body was found near his parents’ house at around 1pm.
They said the victim was from the first wife of his father, Akhter Ali, who had recently contracted a second marriage. He and both his wives lived under the same roof and often had disputes on various matters, they said.
An investigation into the murder was underway to ascertain a motive behind it, the officer said.
