The protesters claim they had submitted their passports to a local travel agency under a ‘Sasta Umrah package’ and demanded an immediate return of their passports from FIA. They added that they were not victims of fraud.

The protest comes as the FIA arrested the two travel agents identified as Qasim and Ahmed on Monday, recovering 6,000 passports from their possession. The suspects claimed that activists from local religious parties had submitted their passports to them to perform an inexpensive Umrah.

The suspects are currently in custody as further investigation is being conducted.
