LAHORE: An Islamabad-bound passenger train collided with a freight carriage on Tuesday.

The train that was travelling from Karachi, collided with freight cars stationed at the Lahore Railway Station.

While all passengers are reportedly safe, some of the bogies have incurred serious damage.

“The Green Line train was speeding which caused the crash,” said Railway Divisional Superintendent (DS) Sufyan Dogar.

Train services have been suspended in order to initiate repairs, railway officials say.

A report has been summoned over the incident by the Federal Railway Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique.
