Sindh police ready for numerous transfers, postings ahead of elections

The Sindh police have finalised plans of transfers and postings in the police department including several senior officials ahead of elections in 2018.

Sources privy to the matter said that the top brass of police has planned to reshuffle the department from top to bottom including grade-20 officers, a private media outlet reported.

Talks between the Sindh government and police department are underway in this regard.

In the first phase, some grade-20 police officers, currently serving as the zonal and range chiefs, are likely to be transferred and posted.

These include the deputy inspector generals (DIGs) of Larkana, Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas as well as Traffic DIG, Special Branch DIG and Criminal Investigation Agency (CIA DIG.

Sources further revealed that a notification regarding their transfer and postings is likely to be issued in the coming week.

The reshuffling of police officers in the entire department would be done in the next phase.
