LAHORE: A sessions court issued a notice to Old Anarkali’s police station’s SHO [Station House Officer] on Saturday pertaining to a petition that sought the registration of a case against ousted prime minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif’s recent statement about the Mumbai attacks.
The petitioner, Advocate Sardar Aftab Ahmad, said that the former PM’s statement was damaging for the country.
Ahmad alleged that the SHO was reluctant to register the case and requested the court to order him to do so.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Saifullah Hanjra issued the notice and asked the SHO to submit his reply by May 24.
