LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) minority MPA from Lahore Peter Gill on Sunday quit his party and announced to join the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Peter Gill along with a large number of Christian workers called on PTI Central Punjab President Aleem Khan and reposed full confidence in the leadership of PTI Chairman Imran Khan. On the occasion, Aleem Khan welcomed Peter Gill in the party fold and said about 100 leaders from different parties have joined the party.

“We will cross the double century before elections,” he hoped. He said the people have pinned hopes on Imran Khan and his 100-day agenda will let Pakistan make progress by leaps and bounds.  He lashed out at the PML-N and said it had ruined the country.

PTI MPA Shoaib Siddiqui and a large number of Christian leaders were present on the occasion. Peter Gill has been elected on PML-N ticket five times and remained MPA from Lahore. He was a member of the provincial assembly from 1985 to 1999 on a reserved ticket.

In April, Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) member of the National Assembly on a minority seat, left the party and joined Imran Khan’s PTI.

He made this announcement during a joint press conference at his residence with Imran Khan where he said that he always practised politics on principles and raised his voice on issues of human rights.
