Time is right to hold looters of national wealth accountable: Kaira

SARGODHA: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Punjab President Qamar Zaman Kaira said on Sunday that the time has come to hold the looters of national wealth accountable for their misdeeds.

Talking to PPP Sargodha delegation, Kaira said that those who looted and misused national wealth should be dragged into the courts without discrimination.

He alleged that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Punjab government had transformed the province into a police state.

Kaira said that PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif had proved himself a traitor by issuing a statement against national interests.

Taking a jibe at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, the PPP leader said that Niazi sahib was surrounding himself with the sort of people that he used to call looters and plunderers.

“How did plunders and looters become ‘sadiq and ameen’ after joining PTI?” he questioned.

Further, Kaira said that the masses should support PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari to get rid of these fraudsters and fake leaders.

He alleged that the multi-billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project was being politicised intentionally.

He also said that India was involved in terrorist activities in Pakistan but the rulers were not even ready to condemn such actions.

Kaira warned that if the political leadership continued the policy of silent spectator over Indian backed incidents of terrorism, then no citizen of the country would remain safe from harm.
