KARACHI: Police arrested a robber in injured condition after an alleged encounter in Metroville area of the city on Saturday.
According to details, a gang of three robbers, including Tariq, were looting citizens at gunpoint near girls’ college in Metroville, when a police team reached the scene. The accused opened fire on the police team to which the police retaliated.
During the shootout, the robber, Tariq sustained bullet injuries. Police arrested him in injured condition and recovered a TT pistol with rounds, and four mobile phones from his possession. Two accomplices of the accused managed to flee from the scene.
The arrested robber was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for treatment.
