KARACHI: The judicial commission on sanitation and water quality ordered the authorities concerned to ensure that the remaining work to be done on waste-water stabilisation treatment ponds in Hyderabad should be completed as soon as possible.

The task force’s chairman Jamal Mustafa Syed was directed by Justice (retd) Amir Hani Muslim to ensure the re-tendering process.

Water and Sanitation Agency’s (WASA) managing director apprised the commission that the remaining work had come to a pause due to an internal issue even though authorities had approved an amount of Rs200 million.

The task force’s chairman was asked to coordinate with Hyderabad commissioner to solve the issues pertaining to the upgradation and rehabilitation of water filter plants.

If the execution was done on time then the provision of funds would not be an issue, said Planning and Development Department’s chairman.
