PESHAWAR: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is likely to visit Peshawar for a four-day stay. He will meet workers and office-bearers from different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in order to devise a strategy for launching election campaign in the province, a local media house reported.
It has been reported that a meeting with the party’s senior leaders and office-bearers was held on Thursday at the provincial President Mohammad Humayun Khan’s house in this regard.
Furthermore, it was finalised that Bilawal will visit KP during Ramzan, however, the date is yet to be finalised.
During his visit, he will meet different delegations and attend iftar dinners. Former provincial presidents, members of the central executive, MPAs and presidents of district and Peshawar city also attended the meeting, which discussed the chairman’s visit, election preparation, etc.
Other issues, including Fata-KP merger and controversial statement of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, also came under discussion.
Humayun Khan demanded registration of a high treason case against Nawaz Sharif.
It was further reported that the PPP leadership visits to Peshawar had made the political rivals uncomfortable.
Furthermore, Humayun said that PPP would hold all the corrupt politicians accountable and would recover the looted national wealth.
“The Bus Rapid Transit project had turned the provincial capital into ruins,” Humayun stated, adding that, “the provincial government had failed to deliver, as it had no policy for the welfare of the people.”
