It’s Happy Birthday today to Pakistan’s head coach Micky Arthur


On Thursday, it’s the birthday of Pakistan’s head coach John Michael “Mickey” Arthur. He was born on May 17, 1968.

Arthur has led Pakistan to No.1 ranking in Test and T20 Internationals and the victory of Champions Trophy 2017. On his birthday, International Cricket Council (ICC) wished him: “He led South Africa to No.1 in the ODI rankings and Pakistan to No.1 in the Test and T20I rankings and the trophy! Happy birthday to head coach Mickey Arthur!”

Arthur is a former South African cricket player, who played South African domestic cricket from 1986 to 2001.

Before being appointed as head coach of Pakistan national team, Micky had coached South Africa and Australia along with league teams like Karachi Kings of Pakistan Super League (PSL).

He remained coach of South Africa from 2005 to 2010,  after that he coached Australian national team until 2013 when Australia was crashed out of the Champions Trophy.
