‘80% prisoners being imparted education in Sargodha district jail’

SARGODHA: Sargodha Jail Superintendent Syed Muhammad Anjum said at least 80% of the jail prisoners are being imparted education while the jails are being introduced as a source of rehabilitation, reported a local English newspaper.

The officer urged to make every prisoner either a student or a teacher, adding that all prisoners will be provided such facilities in the future.

He further said that three new blocks are being constructed in the jail to facilitate the inmates. “The inmates are also being given access to several sports facilities in an attempt to provide them healthy activities,” Anjum stated.
