30 PML-N council chairmen announce opposition to Rana Afzal in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: At least 30 Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) city council chairmen have announced that they would not support PML-N’s nominated candidate for NA-110 if the party fields State Minister for Finance Rana Afzal as the candidate.

The city’s mayor, Malik Razzaq, leads this group and his brother Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Malik Nawaz wants to contest from NA-110.

The city council’s opposition leader Sheraz Kahloon was in favour of Rana Afzal and claimed that Afzal’s contribution to the party was immense.

The PML-N has won the past three successive elections from NA-82 which was renamed as NA-110 after the recent delimitation process.

Rana Afzal is associated with the Sher Ali group while Nawaz is associated with the Rana Sanaullah group, according to reports.
