Three minors die of measles

KHAIRPUR: Three children, who were infected due to measles, died in the Khairpur district on Wednesday.

According to details, the children, the bodies of measles-affected children were shifted to different hospitals in their respective areas. The minors included Hajani Gopang, 8, Zeb, 5, and a daughter of Ahmad Ali who died of measles in village Jaro Khan Gopang near Kumb.

A number of children are under medical treatment due to the growing epidemic.

Meanwhile, at least seven people, mostly children, have died in the separate incidents in different localities of Khairpur.

Earlier, an over speeding prisoner van knocked down a motorcycle carrying two people at old National Highway near village Arib Solangi in Kumb police station jurisdiction.

The motorcyclists Imam Dina Wasan and his 13-year-old son Shiraz Ali Wasan died on the spot in the accident and the van driver fled the scene.

Two girls Bibi Rehmat Rind 07, and Sajida Rind 08, drowned to death after they slipped and fell into a canal while playing at its bank near Ubaro. The villagers recovered the bodies on self-help basis after eight hours.
