Pakistan to face Uzbekistan in Street Child Football World Cup final today

MOSCOW: Pakistan Street Child Football team will be facing Uzbekistan in the final of the world cup on Wednesday in Russia.

The green shirt defeated Indonesia in the semi-final and this will be the first ever final for the team.

The boys won the thrilling semi-final against Indonesia by 5-4 after penalty strokes and secured the place in the final, where they will be facing Uzbekistan.

The semi-final remained equal by 0-0 till the last whistle. In the penalty strokes, however, both teams managed to score four goals each. In additional penalties, Indonesia missed the target after conceding one goal.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan beat Burundi in the semi-final with the score of 1-0.

After the semi-final, while talking to media, Pakistan captain Mohammad Abdullah said he is confident that green team will put up a good show in the final match as well.

“We are very happy that we have qualified for the final.  Insha’Allah we will be keeping the green flag high in the final as well,” he said, adding the boys are highly motivated.

Abdur Rasheed, head coach of Muslim Hands Pakistan Street Child team stated that team would give its best to bring the gift of the trophy to home.

“I request everyone in Pakistan to pray for us,” he said, adding Insha’Allah if the boys play according to their abilities then we will give the gift of victory to the nation.
