Amir Khan reaches Lahore for Punjab Open Boxing Championship

LAHORE: British-Pakistani boxer Amir Khan reached Lahore on Tuesday to take part in the closing ceremony of Inter-Division Punjab Open Boxing Championship.

Khan along with his wife, Faryal Makhdoom, will be the chief guests of the ceremony where they will be handing out the prizes to winners.

Addressing the media at National Hockey Stadium on Friday, the Punjab sports board chairman Jahangir Khanzada announced that Amir Khan would attend the closing ceremony which would be a huge confidence booster for the young boxers.

Khanzada and director of sports Anees Sheikh received Amir Khan at the airport.

The closing will be held on Tuesday at Nishtar Park Sports Complex Gymnasium Hall.

Earlier, while talking to media in London, Khan said that Pakistan is a haven for investors and he will establish several boxing academies in Gwadar and other cities of the country.
