Man attempting to smuggle heroin in candy packs busted

PESHAWAR: Close to 1.5 kilogramme of heroin was recovered from a smuggler by the Airport Security Force (ASF) at the Bacha Khan International Airport Peshawar (BKIAP).

The suspect, named Abdul Rahman who hails from Charsadda, was set to travel to Sharjah and was carrying 1,460 grams of heroin hidden inside candy packets.

He has been taken into custody and an investigation over the matter has been launched.

Last week, two kilogrammes of crystal methamphetamine was recovered from a passenger at the Islamabad International Airport by the Airport Security Force (ASF). The passenger was due to travel to Riyadh via a domestic airlines’ flight. He had hidden the drugs in his luggage and was arrested for further investigation.
