ISLAMABAD: Senate Chairman Mir Sadiq Sanjrani has taken over as acting president of Pakistan as President Mamnoon Hussain departed for Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah on Monday.
A notification stated that Sanjrani would remain acting president of Pakistan during Mamnoon’s absence.
According to a statement, Mamnoon Hussain is to remain in the Kingdom for 10 days to perform Umrah. He is expected to return home after May 24.
