PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak on Saturday submitted a detailed response to a questionnaire sent by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) over corruption allegations.

According to reports, the questionnaire asked for details on the illegal lease of a huge tract of KP forest department land in Malam Jabba and the use of an official helicopter. Furthermore, the responses submitted by Khattak are being thoroughly examined; however, if the replies are unsatisfactory, a reference will be prepared against the KP CM.

On April 24, NAB had summoned Khattak after the issue of illegally leasing 275 acres of land to a private company for 33 years in Malam Jabba came to surface.

Moreover, the government was to lease a 17-acre patch, i.e. 5 acres for construction of a hotel and 12 acres for a chairlift project, for 15 years.

It had been reported that the land was leased to the private company despite objections by the KP Ehtesab Commission and CM’s inspection team. The KP Tourism Corporation had denied the lease of the said land.
