The national flag carrier had made the announcement to avoid traffic congestion which it said was due to the strict security checks.
A PIA spokesman said the letter was mistakenly released; therefore, passengers are requested to follow the old timing to reach the airport.
RAWALPINDI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Thursday withdrew an announcement, according to which passengers were told to reach at least five hours prior to their boarding time in order to catch their flight.
PIA tweeted, “Valued PIA customers, in light of the traffic congestion due to strict security checks at entry points of the new Islamabad International Airport, you are kindly requested to report at least 5 hours prior to departure time for your international flights.”
After realising that this would cause hardship, PIA withdrew it and said the passengers should follow the old timing of arriving at the airport three hours before departure.
