KARACHI: A Sindh High Court (SHC) bench ordered a deputy inspector general (DIG) police to launch an investigation against the SHO of Manghopir in missing person case, reported a local English newspaper.
A woman filed the petition in the court and contended that police had picked up her brother Lal Zada from Manghopir area in last August last year.
The petitioner claimed that SHO Haji Sanaullah had demanded Rs50 million against his release, adding that whereabouts of her brother is still unknown.
Hearing several missing person petitions, a two-member bench of SHC headed by Justice Aftab Ahmed Gorar ordered the DIG (West) to start a probe against SHO and submit a report on May 30.
