MIRPURKHAS: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) workers staged a protest outside the Karachi Press Club on Wednesday against unexpected load shedding and water shortage.
The protest was led by the MNA and PPP district President Mir Munawar Ali and former senator Hari Ram, protesters carrying banners and placards raised slogans against the federal government and the Hesco.
Mir Munawar claimed that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had guaranteed to eliminate load shedding within six months after coming in power.
Therefore, as a result, cotton and chilli crops could not be sowed at the lands and millions of agriculture lands of Nara canal command area were affected.
The MNA further urged the federal government to ensure that the water shortage would be eliminated by supplying the required quantity of water in River Indus and reduce the time of load shedding.
