LAHORE: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has reportedly summoned actress Saba Qamar on May 16 for tax evasion.

The FBR has reportedly sent a notice to the actress seeking an explanation about the discrepancy in her filed taxes.  As per reports, the actress’s income taxes filed for the year 2014-15 are being audited.

The actress has been asked to file details of her assets and foreign tours. “Further probe will be conducted on details presented by Ms Qamar and then her income taxes filed by her for the year 2015-16 and 2016-17 will also be audited,” the report said.

Saba Qamar, however, denied receiving any notice from FBR. “I have not received any notice and I am hearing from the media,” Qamar said, adding that this happened last year and she is used to this by now.

In September 2017, a notification by FBR said that Saba Qamar had been found to be a tax evader. The FBR had stated that actress had defaulted on tax worth Rs3.4 million.
