Two day science festival kicks off in Mardan

MARDAN: A two-day science festival, organised by the district government in collaboration with Taleemi Jirga under the supervision of Alif Ailaan and Pakistan Alliance for Maths and Science, began on Wednesday at the Mardan Sports Complex in the city.

According to the organisers, the festival aims to ignite a spark for science and discovery among students in the region and to promote a better quality of learning available in government schools.

Students and teachers from all over the city attended the festival along with their inventions and unique discoveries pertaining to daily living sciences. Scores of students wearing clean and crisp school uniforms were seen excitedly briefing visitors about their science projects.

A group of students Noman, Najeeb & Hassan from Oriental Public School, Mardan, made an electronic quiz board to make learning fun.

 

 

A number of stalls were established by students of public and private schools, colleges, varsities, public and private organisations.

Live science experiments, interactive displays and live experiments, some of which involved robotics, hydraulics and electrical circuits, were performed in the event.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The science festival is the first of its kind in the whole Peshawar Valley and second in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The district government will give away competition and encouragement awards to the distinctive students at the end of the festival.

According to details, the students who plan unique discoveries and inventions will be financed by the district government for further improvement of their models.

The science fair is open to the public and will end on Thursday.
