‘Sensitive’ polling stations to get cameras ahead of general elections: report

ISLAMABAD: Chief Election Commi­ssioner (CEC) Justice (retd) Sardar Muhammad Raza conducted a meeting on Tuesday and evaluated progress made over the availability of polling staff, provision of missing facilities at polling stations and procurement of security cameras for installation in polling stations, reported a local media outlet.

Attendees of the meeting, which also include the four chief secretaries, were told that security cameras were being procured to be installed at “sensitive” polling stations ahead of the upcoming general elections.

The Election commission of Pakistan (ECP) would send a list of sensitive polling booths to the respective provinces next month.

ECP Spokesperson said that the date of elections was not on the meeting’s agenda.
