Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday visited Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal at Lahore’s Services Hospital, after the latter got injured in a failed assassination attempt at him in Narowal.
The former premier came to inquire about Ahsan Iqbal’s health all the way from Islamabad amid heavy security. Following the meeting, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supreme leader Nawaz Sharif prayed for interior minister’s speedy recovery.
It is pertinent to mention here that Ahsan is currently receiving medical treatment after he was fired upon during a corner meeting in Narowal on Sunday night.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader was exiting a political gathering in his constituency and entering his car when a suspect opened fire at him. Grazing his elbow, the bullet lodged itself in the interior minister’s abdomen area.
He was moved to an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) following two surgeries early Monday morning.
Ahsan was flown to Lahore amid heavy security after receiving initial treatment at District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) in Narowal. He was received by Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and others upon his arrival in the provincial capital.
