LAHORE: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Tuesday congratulated Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Najam Sethi and PCB on bringing cricket back to Pakistan successfully.
PCB, on its official Twitter handle, shared a letter written by the Army chief facilitating PCB Najam Sethi and PCB on successful staging of the three PSL matches and PAKvWI series in Pakistan.
PCB thanked the COAS for the support.
“Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa felicitates Chairman PCB Najam Sethi and PCB on successful staging of the three PSL matches and PAKvWI series in Pakistan. Thank you for your support General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Pakistan Army,” the tweet read.
The Army chief in his letter to PCB chairman said: “I wish to express my hearty felicitation to you and your team on the conduct of Pakistan Super League and home series with West Indies in Pakistan.”
The letter further read that these landmarks achievements not only bode well for the future of Pakistan cricket but also allay the distorted view of Pakistan and the security environment.
“I thank you for your kind words of gratitude for making comprehensive security arrangements for international cricket events,” the letter said, adding Pakistan Army supports PCB in all efforts to promote the image of peaceful and progressive Pakistan. We appreciate your diligence and patriotic zeal in making these events a resounding success.
“With best wishes and warm regards to all functionaries of PCB,” the letter concluded.
