Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz on Sunday became a grandmother after the birth of her granddaughter.
Maryam’s absence was conspicuous at PML-N’s rally when a Twitter user asked Maryam why she remained absent at which she responded, “I had to be with my daughter.”

In late 2015, then PM Nawaz Sharif’s granddaughter Mehr-un-Nisa Safdar got married to Raheel Munir, son of renowned businessman Chaudhry Munir.
The wedding was also attended by Indian PM Narendra Modi in his only visit to Pakistan. He had flown to Raiwind to attend the wedding ceremony.
Media reports said around 4,500 people attended the Walima ceremony.
