QUETTA: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Monday addressed the participants of the 2nd National Security Workshop in Balochistan. The workshop was organised by the Southern Command in collaboration with the provincial government.
The two-week long workshop was aimed at creating understanding about critical national security issues, capacity building for timely decision making and enabling the participants to comprehend the interplay of all elements involved in national power in the construct of a comprehensive national security.
Members of Balochistan and National Assemblies, media representatives and officers from the civil services also attended the workshop.
Highlighting internal and external challenges being faced by Pakistan, the army chief said that the full spectrum of threats demanded a comprehensive national response, adding that the army was fully engaged in enabling that response in coordination with other state institutions.
He said terrorism had no religion, sect or ethnicity, while adding that Pakistan had fought against this menace indiscriminately and would root it out through a well-coordinated approach.
Southern Command Commander Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa accompanied the army chief during his visit.
