FIA arrests three illegal travellers from Allama Iqbal airport

LAHORE: Immigration wing of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Monday arrested three passengers over various charges at the Allama Iqbal International Airport.

According to an FIA spokesman, a passenger, Babar Hussain of Mansehra, arrived in Lahore from Dubai and presented his exit passport (EP) for immigration clearance. The reason for deportation stated in the document was illegal migration. As per the details, he went to Muscat on a work visa from the Lahore Airport on October 16, 2015. In October 2017, he illegally travelled to Dubai having no documents with the connivance of an agent.

Another passenger, Zafar Nawaz, arrived at the airport via flight number QR620 from Muscat and the reason stated in his EP was illegal immigration. As per the details, he had traveled to Dubai on a visit visa in 2016. From there, he had traveled to Muscat through a border crossing.

Another passenger, Umair Ahmad, was leaving for Kenya via flight number WY342. During immigration clearance, his particulars were highlighted in the blacklist category. The reason behind his name being in the list was stated to be illegal entry/departure from Bucharest.

The passengers were sent to the agency’s Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) for legal action.

Further investigation is underway.
