HARIPUR: Four women including a mother and her three daughters were murdered in Qutba area of the district on Sunday.

According to the police, Rafaqat Zaman lodged an FIR at the Khanpur Police Station, stating that the wife and three daughters of his brother Shafaqat Zaman had been killed by unknown assailants.

Police reported that the dead bodies were found tied to chairs using ropes and juice boxes were lying around them.

It is being speculated that unidentified men entered the house, tied the woman Sadaf and her three daughters, and forced them all to drink poisonous juice.

It was also reported that Sadaf was the first wife of Shafaqat Zaman, who has two wives.
Furthermore, Shafaqat is currently an absconder wanted by the police in cases pertaining to robbery and muggings.

The police identified as the mother as Sadaf, who was married to a man named Shafaaqat Zaman. Sadaf was the first wife of Zaman, police said, adding that Zaman has two wives.

The police have registered cases and started an investigation of all aspects, while the bodies of the deceased have been sent to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem.

In a separate honour killing case in Swat, a gruesome case was reported on Sunday afternoon where a man had taken to violence in a fit of rage over the alleged involvement of his spouse with another man.

“He axed his wife and another man in Ashuran area of Kalam,” said the police.

The police have arrested the prime suspect and registered a case against him.
