MCI struggles to search a suitable director for DMA

In what clearly looks like a music chair for the top post of the director of the Directorate of Municipal Administration of the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad, Deputy Director Malik Attaullah of BS-18 who was awaiting posting was given current charge of the director of the Municipal Administration when Islamabad High Court deserted then DMA Director Ali Sufyan, a grade 18 officer of the Commerce and Trade to be sent back to his ministry.

According to notification issued by CDA Human Resource Directorate, Attaullah has been asked to report to HRD for further posting while Additional Director Zafar Iqbal who is presently posted as the director of the Emergency and Disaster Management has been given additional charge of the DMA director on look after basis and till further orders.

It is pertinent to mention that Sufyan’s removal comes a day after CDA’s Enforcement Wing and Metropolitan Corporation of Islamabad’s Directorate of Municipal Administration operation against bus stands in Faizabad in collaboration with the ICT Administration and the Islamabad Police.

The operation was carried out against transport stands operating illegally. In this mega operation, all operational staff of the Enforcement Directorate under the supervision of Deputy Director Muhammad Ramzan, staff of DMA, MCI headed by Director Ali Sufian has took part while none from the Environment Wing participated during the operation.
