Hotel in Madina housing Umrah pilgrims catches fire


MADINA MUNAWWARA: A fire erupted at a hotel in the holy city of Madina on Saturday.

Rescue teams are on the scene and making efforts to fight the blaze and evacuate the Umrah pilgrims who are staying at the hotel.

The pilgrims belong to various nationalities including Pakistan, Egypt, Syria and Iraq.

The fire was reportedly caused by a short-circuit on the 14th floor of the hotel.

Approximately 250 Pakistanis are currently in Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah.
