Maryam Nawaz has been in the limelight ever since her daddy took the throne (and was later de-throned) in Islamabad. Add to that a couple of controversial Twitter posts and we have media favourite. However, politics aside, Maryam, never fails to impress us with her fashion sense: whether she has to appear before court or she has to address a jalsa, she is always impeccably dressed and we can’t help but swoon on her fashion choices. Here are 10 moments when Maryam proved she’s the ultimate queen of fashion.
- Maryam ‘khaleesi’ Nawaz was called before the Panama Joint Investigation Team and she looked drop dead gorgeous in a printed sea green kameez and a solid dupatta. Her hair was tied to perfection in a bun, while her makeup was flawlessly natural. People were so stricken by her that a senior police official saluted her (and got suspended for it). While talking to the media she was poised and confident, not to mention, her brother was overshadowed while she basked in unmatched fashion glory.
- Here, Maryam in her usual calm ‘straight-face’ demeanour is getting ready to drive away after spending time with her supporters. She chose to wear a chic black duppatta with velvet embroidery and a red velvet border. She accessorised her look with small black and gold studs. And we have to add, she looked stunning despite the fact that she was bare-faced. Could definitely do with skin like that.
- This picture is probably the epitome of all rishta photos. Here, Maryam is seen sporting a grey ensemble which she accesorises with a grey-pearl necklace and a soft blow-dry.
- Present outside the accountability court, the queen of Punjab chose to wear an all-black outfit with a bedazzled Chanel brooch. Though, she appears to be makeup free, that glow is definitely blinding. Whether it is the sun or a highlighter, that only Maryam know. She definitely looks like she walked straight off Saudi Arabia’s Fashion Week’s ramp!
- Towering over India’s Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj, the fashion ‘goddess’ chose to wear a simple lawn jora with floral embroidery.
- We don’t care if daddy’s sweating after coming out of an accountability court hearing on our alleged corruption. We’re daddy’s princess and we’re going to play with our gold watch, and smile while we’re at it, because we’re ‘cute’.
- Here Maryam borrows a page from the late Benazir Bhutto’s book as she donnes a sunshine-yellow outfit embellished with lace and frills and bell-bottom trousers.
- In this picture from her daughter’s walima, Maryam wears a heavy sea green formal, complimenting her look with simple jewellery, a tight, braided bun, with a lily flower fixed into it, and soft, peachy makeup. She has definitely nailed the “mother-of-the-bride” look.
- I guess, its okay to have a bad fashion day sometimes. But this colour combination, that makeup with the sharp lip and incomplete eyebrows is just not doing it. Let’s just say, never visit that designer or makeup studio again, please.
- Saving the best for the last. This post would have been incomplete without a picture from Maryam’s wedding, so we scoured the internet till we found the perfect picture from the wedding archives.
Maryam, who is only 19 here, stands with her better half, Capt (retd) Safdar, looking like a typical bride from the 1990s. She adorns a traditional red wedding dress, heavily embellished with gold and bronze work. She compliments her look with a solid gold jewellery which includes a tikka, jhoomar, earrings, choker as well as a mala. She completes her look with gold eyes, red lips and roses in her hair.
