Sindh journalists admire use of latest technology by PSCA

LAHORE: A delegation of fourteen senior journalists and analysts representing the media fraternity of Sindh on Wednesday visited the Punjab Police Integrated Command Control and Communication Center (PPIC3) – a premier project of the Punjab Safe Cities Authority’s (PSCA) – to secure first-hand insight of the faculty.

On the occasion, PSCA Chief Operating Officer (COO) Akbar Nasir Khan briefed the delegation about various arms and functions of the project and the advanced technologies supporting it.

The COO accompanied the delegation through the PPIC3 that acts as a consolidated hub of integrated policing regulating swift emergency and police responses including, but not limited to, intelligent traffic management, dispatch of police, PRU and Dolphin Force, 1122 emergency services, criminal identification/ investigations, virtual surveillance and media monitoring.

The journalists expressed excitement on witnessing marvels of latest technologies employed by the project. They termed the mass engagement of tech-savvy youths a guarantee to Pakistan’s bright future.

“Such sophisticated and integrated security projects must be emulated across Pakistan,” they said.

The delegation, comprising print and electronic media icons including Mujahid Barelvi, Nazir Leghari, Mubashir Zaidi, Jabbar Khatak, Amin Yousaf, Waheed Jamal, Maqsood Yousafi, Ahmed Hassan, Saeed Khawar, Shabir Chaudhry, Mubashir Mir, Jabbar Khatak, Ather Hashmi, Abdul Razzaq Abro and Idrees Bakhtiyar, was later presented with souvenir shields by the management of the PSCA.
