LAHORE: The Cabinet Division has written to federal ministries eight years after the passage of the 18th Amendment seeking to get proposals on the allocation of departments that come under their purview, reported a local media outlet.
The Cabinet Division has asked federal ministries and divisions whether previously assigned departments should be reassigned to them in “public interest”. Several ministries including health, education, human rights and climate change were re-established at the federal level in 2011 after being devolved to provinces.
A senior official at the Cabinet Division said that the decision was not taken to reverse the 18th Amendment but to assist ministries in getting the relevant departments.
