KARACHI: Authorities on Tuesday registered a case against unidentified assailants who, one day earlier, stabbed a 19-year-old girl to death after reportedly raping her and injured her brother in sector 11 of New Karachi locality.
The case was registered on the complaint of the victims’ mother who stated that she had no idea who the attackers might be.
Earlier on Monday night, unknown men stabbed a 19-year-old girl to death after reportedly raping her and injured her brother.
According to media reports, the attackers barged into the house and murdered the girl after allegedly raping her. The girl’s brother was also wounded in the process.
The police stated that phones of girl and her brother were also missing after the incident while their mother, who is divorced, was not present at the house.
The mother was away at work in a factory at the time of the incident, police said.
Following the incident, police had arrested two suspects from the area.
