AC judge fines PML-N senator Rs 2,000 after phone rings in court

ISLAMABAD: Accountability Court (AC) Judge Muhammad Bashir on Monday fined Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Chaudhry Tanvir Khan after his cell phone rang in the court.

Despite the apology, the judge ordered the senator to submit Rs 2,000 for breaking the court’s decorum. His phone went off during the hearing which not only took everyone by surprise but also invited the judge’s ire.

Judge Muhammad Bashir ordered Tanvir Khan to donate the amount to an Edhi center and submit the receipt to the court.

Khan became the senator in March 2015 and he often accompanies the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif during his hearings at NAB court.
