RAWALPINDI: Former Pakistani speedster Shoaib Akhtar on Sunday predicted that Pakistani batsmen will face difficulty during England tour.

“It takes almost 15 days for players to get accustomed to conditions of another country,” Akhtar said, adding the English conditions will prove highly tricky for Pakistani batsmen.

He, however, expressed high hopes that green shirts will come on top.

The former pacer cautioned national team not to take Ireland lightly and play against them like any other team.

Talking to media at National Highways & Motorway Police (NHMP) awareness seminar, the fast bowler recalled the time when he got severely injured in a road accident in 2004. The accident made him realise the importance of the helmet.

The Pakistani team kicked off the tour with a four-day match against Kent on Saturday. This will be followed by second tour match against Northamptonshire on May 4.

The national team will take on Ireland, which will be playing its first ever Test match on May 11, before playing against England on May 24 and June 1.

This will be followed by two T20 internationals against Scotland on May 12 and 13.
