ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has been directed by a sub-committee of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee (NASC) on Government Assurances to ascertain those behind posts portraying Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) chief Imran Khan as Lord Shiva, according to a local news outlet.

Member of National Assembly (MNA) Ramesh Lal said he met with FIA officials and explained that Lord Shiva is considered a god and depicting him as a politician is blasphemous.

MNA Shehzadi Umerzadi Tiwana chaired the meeting in which the FIA was also directed to reach an understanding with concerned US departments so that details of users behind such posts could be obtained.

FIA had previously informed the committee that 15 users were based in India while two were operating from Pakistan. The Pakistani users had deleted their posts. Additionally, the FIA had sent a request to the US Webmaster to ascertain which user had initially uploaded the post.
