SWAT: An earthquake of high intensity jolted districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Saturday evening but no causalities or property damages were reported so far.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), tremors measuring 5.6 on the Richter Scale were felt in Swat, Malakand, Battagram, Dir Bala and surrounding areas. Fearing any untoward situation, people of the areas vacated their homes in panic.
The epicentre of the quake was stated to be in the Hindu Kush region, 200 kilometres beneath the earth’s crust.
