ISLAMABAD: Former President of Pakistan and President of Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) Asif Ali Zardari said on Friday that progress could be seen only in Jati Umra and nowhere else in Punjab, promising that his party would establish South Punjab province if given power after 2018 elections.

He said PPP will come to power after winning the next general elections and will make South Punjab a separate province. He further said that people of Central Punjab will also prosper in PPP government.

He said this while talking to former Prime Minister of Pakistan Yusuf Raza Gillani at Bilawal House in Lahore on Friday.

During the meeting, the former President said that PPP is aware of deprivation and difficulties faced by the people of South Punjab and Party believes that by giving a separate South Punjab province to the people, their troubles will be allayed.

He said every province was treated with justice during PPP governments. The PPP gave sovereignty to the provinces and NFC awards were announced.

He said that the government which came after 2013 elections gave nothing to the people of Pakistan except unemployment, hunger and economic chaos.

Former president said that the party manifesto is in last stages of being completed. “PPP after coming to power in 2018 elections will fulfill all the promises made in its manifesto,” he said.
