Govt earmarks over 15bn rupees for CADD Ministry

  • Ministry to complete on-going projects, to initiate new schemes

The federal government has allocated Rs 15.236 billion for Ministry of Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) for various on-going and new projects for the financial year 2018-19.

According to the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP), out of the total Rs 15.236 billion, an amount of Rs 2650.961 million has been earmarked for education-related projects, Rs 4208.539 million for different projects of health, while Rs 8377.424 million has been allocated for various schemes relating to the Physical Planning and Housing.

In the health schemes, there are five on-going schemes, while 16 are new schemes of which Rs. 725.000 billion has been allocated for replacement/up-gradation HVAC Plant Room Equipment and Allied Works at PIMS, Rs. 500 million for up-gradation of Existing Liver Transplant Center at PIMS, Rs. 500 million for extension of Organ Transplant Center, Rs. 400 million for the establishment of Center for Hematology Disorder at PIMS, Rs 265 million for a cancer hospital, while Rs 200 million has been earmarked for the construction of a federal medical college.

In the education-related schemes, there are a total of eight on-going schemes, while 15 are new schemes which are included in the years 2018-19. According to the detail, out of the total eight on-going schemes, Rs. 845.000 million has been allocated for Renovation/Rehabilitation of Physical Infrastructure of 200-educational Institutions under Prime Minister’s Education Sector Reforms Program in ICT, Islamabad, Rs. 500 million for establishment of Federal government College of Home Economics Management Sciences and specialized Disciplines, F-11/1, Islamabad, while Rs. 400 million has been earmarked for up-gradation of ICT high schools.

Similarly, out of 15 new schemes, Rs. 200 million has been earmarked for the establishment of Smart schools in ICT, which was approved in December 2017, Rs. 100 million for the establishment of Islamabad Model College for Girls (IMCs) G-14/4, Islamabad, while Rs. 100 million for the establishment of Islamabad Model School for Boys, G-13-2, Islamabad.

In the Physical Planning and Housing schemes, Rs 8377.424 million has been allocated for four on-going schemes and three new schemes. According to the PSDP, an amount of Rs 7 billion has been allocated for the signal-free Islamabad Expressway (Phase-III), Rs 500 million for construction of water from Indus river system of Terbela Dam for Islamabad and Rawalpindi, Rs 295 million for providing/replacement of HVAC system installed at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Rs 200 million for construction of additional family suits for lawmakers including 500 servants quarters at G-5/2, while Rs 199 million has been allocated for construction/up-gradation of the mosque at the Pak-Secretariat.
