KARACHI: Rapper, stand-up comedian and actor Ali Gul Pir is back with an act again and has us all in fits. His latest project is a recreation of viral pictures from the Pakistani media which took the country by storm.
The witty Wadere Ka Beta first tweeted that he would be recreating some “absurd and controversial” photos with the help of photographer Jaffer Hasan.

He then went on to hilariously recreating controversial photos which hadn’t sat quite well with the public and termed ‘indecent’. He started by taking a shot at the fashion industry and its over the top eccentric ideas.

Some Fashion people came to Dadu and said we want to do a photoshoot with the indegenious people of Dadu. I volunteered, so they told me to hold the umbrella and do the heatstroke pose. Clothes are by #SanaSafoora – clothing shop in Safoora Goth.

Musician Taimoor Salahuddin, popularly known as Mooroo, also made a guest appearance, recreating a ridiculously funny version of a ridiculously pointless picture. He captioned it: “Just a regular Tuesday with my bro, cuz if Hoecan then we can too.” The hashtags that accompanied left everyone’s stomachs in knots.

He then moved on to do a recreation on the most controversial photo of last year, you guessed it! Mahira and Ranbir. Ali’s re-do seemed to be a ‘take that!’ for people who lost their marbles on a mere tobacco stick and issued personal fatwas on somebody’s personal matter.

He also used his photos to raise awareness and talk about important topics such as child labour and how our local fashion industry needs to educate itself besides empathising. He paired a photo of him giving a kid a piggyback ride next to a photo of a model where the child seems to be used as a prop/servant.
Others who caught the 32-year olds eye include the famous chai wala and Ayesha Omer.
