ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday adjourned the contempt of court case against Daniyal Aziz till May 3.

A three-member bench headed by Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed heard the case in which Daniyal Aziz took a stance that he worked for the freedom of judiciary throughout his life and denied the contempt allegations against him.

The defence lawyer, during the hearing, presented a private TV channel’s video in front of the witness in the court. He asked the witness that “is the private news channel’s footage edited? Can you tell the date, place and time of the footage?”

The witness said that the footage was made on December 19 in Punjab House.  Daniyal’s counsel questioned whether the video was captured during a private event.

“Can you tell if Daniyal or other person requested for coverage of the event?”  To this, the witness replied in negative.
