Gas supply still not restored to K-Electric despite PM’s tall claims

KARACHI: Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL) has not restored gas supply to K-Electric yet, despite Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s tall claims.

The premier, during his Karachi visit, had promised to supply 190 MMCFD gas supply to K-Electric to eliminate continuous power outages in Karachi. He had said that the metropolis will not be deprived of electricity or water, adding that load shedding will be continued in the areas where power theft is at peak.

In a statement, K-Electric spokesman said that the electricity crisis can only be eradicated after getting the demanded gas supply. He has also claimed to have ended power cuts in industrial areas.

It is pertinent to mention here that Karachi is facing load-shedding of more than 12 hours daily on the name of technical glitches.

The locations that are affected by the power cuts are Malir, Shah Faisal Colony, New Karachi, Federal B Area, Liaquatabad, Orangi Town, PHCHS, Nazimabad, Korangi, Landhi, Old City area and Lines area.
