KARACHI: Renowned Brazilian football coach Jose Antonio Nogueira arrived in Karachi on Wednesday.
Earlier, this month Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) announced Nogueira as the new head coach of Pakistan football team.
The Brazilian coach will be in Karachi until May 10 to witness the ongoing PFF National Challenge Cup and select players for the national team. The selected players will take part in the training camps to prepare for the upcoming Asian Games and SAFF Championship.
PFF has hired Nogueira for three years and he will also work as a head for youth teams. In a video message, earlier this month, the Brazilian said that he will make Pakistan a strong side of Asia.
Being an experienced coach, he has coached teams both in his native country and abroad. He has also worked with Saudi football club, Al-Ahli.
He will replace Mohammed Shamlan of Bahrain, who served as coach of Pakistani team until April 2015.
